Polyamp receives the Raytheon Supplier Excellence Award

Åtvidaberg March 17, 2010 - Polyamp AB was recognized for its quality and performance by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. Polyamp received the Five Star in the Supplier Excellence Award at a ceremony held on March 2, 2010.

Raytheon recognizes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement. The Five Star is the highest rank within the Supplier Excellence Award.



"Our deliveries will provide an unprecedented level of technological capability for the Advanced Degaussing Systems onboard the USN San Antonio class of LPD," said Polyamp AB's Managing Director Eric Östlund. "Ultimately, the Advanced Degaussing System will help protect the brave men and women of the United States Military by minimizing the underwater magnetic signature emanating from the vessels magnetic hull and by this  significantly preventing underwater influence sea mines to detonate adjacent to the ships."

Polyamp´s role in the LPD17 program dates back to 1998 when Polyamp received the design contract for the digital controlled Power Converter and Bipolar Amplifier Units (PCBA). Polyamp is a known International player in the Signature Management and Degaussing Technology Area and was the first company that introduced digital controlled Degaussing system in the early of the 1980-ties. For the US Navy Polyamp have delivered the PCBA for the San Antonio Class, trough Raytheon Company, and as well the full Advanced Degaussing System for the latest US Carrier USS Bush CVN77.

Our Åtvidaberg plant is expanded and refurbished we also a new entrace. The reason is increased demand of our DC/DC converters and that the production of the Systems division products has also been moved to the plant. In connection with the expansion we also changed the energy system and are using heat pumps charged by the Swedish Granite ground.
